The Executive Order (EO) 13998 uses the term “public
maritime vessels" and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) further clarified the EO intent through their order
"Requirement for Face Masks on Public Transportation Conveyances and
at Transportation Hubs" to apply to all commercial vessels. At this
time, the current guidance applies to all commercial vessels which
is inclusive of fishing vessels, uninspected passenger vessels,
cargo ships, tankers, charter passenger vessels,
ferries, towing vessels etc.
